Make A Wish
edited by George Wilhite

We’ve all done it--wished for something to solve our current problems--daydreamed about “the one that got away” or the road not taken—thought of what our three wishes would be if we found that genie in the bottle.

Open to any speculative genre—the only requirement is that somebody makes a wish and that is a key ingredient in the story. You decide if it is granted or not, what consequences it carries, and so forth.

Try to avoid clichés (like my example above of the genie) unless you have a fresh take on it. “The Monkey’s Paw” By W. W. Jacobs, Stephen King’s “Pet Semetary,” or the movie “A. I.” are some examples of the kind of thing I have in mind.

Send submissions to geojazz@sbcglobal.net with “Make A Wish” in the subject line. Please send one story at a time. I will consider multiple stories from a single author if you are sending flash, but still please only send one at a time.

No minimum or maximum word count. I

FORMAT:

Please send submissions like this: Title, name, content, bio. The bio must be at the end of the story in the manuscript. Single space, indented paragraphs (do not indent first paragraph), and no space between paragraphs. Times New Roman, Courier, or Georgia fonts preferred. Scene breaks should be shown with a CENTERED ***

Also, if you have not submitted to a Static Movement anthology before, please check out Chris Bartholomew’s guidelines at:

Ron Koppelberger decided to use his 2000 words by crafting six flash pieces which have been accepted: Deep Love, Lecture Hall Flows, The Wedding, Voodoo Doll, Priceless, The Hymn of Wilford Larouse--all of them work the theme well--thanks Ron
