Sorry. My third idea for this anthology turned into an article for Unexplained Mysteries. I'm not certain I can twist it enough to make a fiction story. I'm thinking MAYBE, but not certain.

I'm one of the authors accepted back at the beginning. Might I make a suggestion? Often, the next step if not enough quality submissions arrive is to broaden the subject. Instead of just Egyptian God themed stories, how about letting the stories involve any ancient gods? It would have to invoke the actual historical pantheon, not just any made up or generic thing. That way, the cover and even title would hold valid and you might get some new interest.

I would certainly take it if there was a main Egyptian focus. The point is to make all the stories about Ancient Egypt. There should certainly be enough to work with. The Egyptians had hundreds of gods and goddesses for every little thing, and it is supposed to about Egyptian life. Thanks for the tip but I can't widen the focus anymore than that. I will wait a hundred years if I have to.

I thought there were a lot more fans of Ancient Egypt out there... doesn't everyone love their history? Maybe not...

Little has been said about Egyptian magick and that is the reason I started this. I hope that helps with some ideas.

What would you see if you went back in time right now to visit Ancient Egypt? What would you want to see?

What if someone stumbled upon a cursed Egyptian scarab necklace and it showed them a vision of something terrible that happened? What else could come from that idea?

What if you had dreams of being sacrificed to an Egyptian god for a good harvest? And then what's more, what if you found out it actually happened to you?

See what I mean? I have thousands of ideas for this if it helps. What about some Cleopatra story with a new twist. The possiblities are endless so I hope I am helping more than hurting.

I am now accepting stories on Ancient Gods and Goddesses. I still want the anthology to be mainly Egyptian but we can squeeze more in and see how this goes. I hope this helps. We'll still be keeping the same name though. Can't wait to see what you can come up with!

I hate to ask, but the contract says that if an anthology is not published within 12 months of the signing of the contract, rights revert back to the author and the author may do with their story as they wish. I do not want to incur any ill feelings, but I have a lead on possible publications for the 2 stories I have submitted here. I will leave my stories with this anthology until the eleventh hour, but my question is, are there any other penalties for (early) withdrawal? I love Static Movement and prefer to not withdraw, but there are other things to consider. Also, if I do withdraw, but the stories are not accepted in the publications I'm looking at, may I resubmit them here if this anthology is still open?

No, you can take a story back at any time and you are welcome to re-sumbit the story. If you do, let the editor know that you want to withdraw the story to submit somewhere else, then if that doesn't work out, you can bring that to the editors memory and tell them you would like the story to be back in.
