No limit on length - that could be good or bad for me depending upon the story. I may have the beginnings of an idea, set in the late1940s and even borrowing part of its title from a movie of that era. In it Jack Petrov would face revenge at the hands of someone he caused going to prison from his 1925 pardon, but the crook would have a supernatural advantage now. Once I get a story for Cities of Death A to Z done, this could be my next project.

It might be fun but the word for it is work, as in 8 hrs a day work. It's the details that consume so much time.
