The Toolbox - STILL NEEDS STORIES
« Thread Started on May 31, 2012, 2:54pm »

The Toolbox edited by Dorothy Davies

The toolbox stands open, crammed to the top with tools.
What does it contain that could be used to kill someone, maim someone, destroy something...

Choose one tool which will feature in your story and let me know what it is. I would like each writer to choose a different tool, so, no two stories with hammers or chisels! and I will keep a running list of who has taken what for their very own theme.

PLEASE CHECK THE LIST OF TOOLS BEFORE SENDING A STORY, I DO WANT EVERY AUTHOR TO HAVE A DIFFERENT TOOL! this is important, this is what will differentiate this anthology. If you look, Colours has the same request. Hammer and Nail Gun have already been taken. See my ongoing posting of who has taken what. OK? Let's play, this one could be fun.

The toolbox stands open, it awaits you- rummage through it and choose your weapon.

This could be an extraordinary anthology, give it your very best thoughts!

A 'for love only' anthology, no money, no copies, but loads of exposure.

Please send stories to dorothystaticm@gmail.com with 'toolbox' in the subject line.

Single spacing, please, no headers, footers or page numbers. Reprints are fine. Be sure to let me have a short bio with your story for the end of the anthology, for my Meet the Authors section. No word limit either way. Please send the story as an attachment in anything but odt. I can't always open those. Please ensure the formatting is half decent, indented paragraphs, no extra lines between the paragraphs and dialogue (I have to edit them all out) and most of all, only 1 space between words. I have had a story in where there are 2 spaces between the words, can't be doing with it! Yes, I can find and replace but it is better if it comes in right in the first place. 99% of the stories which come in are fine, I have to say, but a few are not. When there are a lot of stories waiting to be read, I will go to the ones which have been sent in the proper format. It's only natural.
