I am going to be co-editor for this anthology so submissions should be sent to me at author.chris@gmail.com
What we want are horror stories that deal with arctic/frozen climates and wastelands. Your stories may be nonspecific in theme. They can be creature-driven, psychological, supernatural/otherworldly, or any range in-between as long as the "frozen" aspect is there. I am looking for stories roughly 2,000-5,000 words. Slightly over or under is fine, but nothing exceedingly large.
Attach a bio with your story, but keep them short and professional. Three sentences max. Usual Static Movement formatting rules apply: single space with indented paragraphs, no space between paragraphs and standard 12 font. Use centered *** for scene breaks. Please no simultaneous submissions. In other words, if I have your story, please be considerate and don't send it to other publications or post it online until your contract has elapsed. Submit your story to author.chris@gmail.com with the words "Frozen Fear Submission" in the subject line. Submissions will stay open until filled. This is a "for the love" anthology.

Welcome welcome all! Just wanted to say greetings and I look forward to your darkest horror, best served cold. I'd like to modify the theme slightly so that the acceptance range is wider...if you want to interpret the theme in other ways (to include cold-hearted characters for example), feel free as long as there is an icy edge to your horror. Thanks. -M.C.

I may give this a shot, it's a cool concept. Although I've never written horror before, so we'll see what happens.

Excellent! We'll see what happens indeed. When writing horror, subtlety is the best medicine...and if a little blood gets on the ice, that's okay too. Feel free to bounce ideas off me if you prefer. I'm very personable. I'll help any way I can.

Wow, this looks killer, Mark! It's great to see you editing an anthology over here at Static Movement. I think I can come up with something for this one.

Thanks for stopping by Gregory. I would be thrilled to have your work. It's great to be here among such excellent talent. Gotta run...taking pictures of the snow (in San Antonio...a rare thing!)

LOL! Emma, I was just wondering how many people were going to say that. HEHE! Well, I hope you still have the energy for one more. This one is wide open, and I am looking for some stellar authors to put this one on the map. I am reminded of one of my favorite pulp stories, The Wolf Woman by Basset Morgan (it was published in Weird Tales in 1927, and later appeared in Weird Vampire Tales hardcover). The prologue goes like this..."They dug her out of a glacier, this golden-haired vampire of the North, and she called the white wolves to do her bidding." This story is soooo fantastic if you have a chance to read it. It's chilling, and full of rich description, and it really takes you there. I also think of the movie, The Thing (based on the novella "Who Goes There?" by John W. Campbell, Jr.) in which a team of researchers in the arctic come face to face with an alien life form that imitates and destroys anything it comes into contact with. I am sure that everyone has a favorite dark fiction "chiller" that takes place in cold conditions. Let them inspire you. In the meantime, I'll be waiting for your tales!

I have a good snow story but it's on offer to Cutting Block and they take six months to respond ... (been there a while already...)
